Dr. Katie Little honored with the 2009 Visionary Voice Award
Congratulations to Dr. Katie Little the recipient of the National Sexual Violence Resource Center 2009 Visionary Voice Award. This award recognizes the creativity, hard work, and dedication of individuals around the country working to address and prevent sexual violence. Winners are selected by their respective state, tribal, or territory anti-sexual violence coalitions and represent a wide range of individuals doing this critical work at the local level.
The Coalition nominated Dr. Little who is a recently retired emergency room physician at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School (DHMC) in Hanover, NH. Dr. Little chaired the Domestic and Sexual Violence Task Force at DHMC where institution-wide protocols and a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program were established. She was an active member of the NH Sexual Assault Nurse (SANE) Advisory Board, and the NH Healthcare Coalition.
Coalition Executive Director Grace Mattern was joined by Governor John Lynch in presenting the award to Dr. Little at the 2009 Victims Rights Day Celebration this week in Concord. Dr. Little is a stalwart advocate for victims of sexual violence and we honor her many years working to strengthen health care’s response to victims of sexual violence.
